2013 ACMs

I think every year I end up saying “this was the best award show ever” but this year really was amazing! Here are my thoughts about the show that I compiled instead of blowing up my twitta feed :)

Most badass opening performance ever!!! So many artists!

Not gonna lie I am missing the Reba/Blake commentary/banter. Even though I love “bluke” something’s off.

The group of nominees for entertainer of the year this year is pretty interesting. I think it’s be great for Miranda to win but I also think Taylor has a monopoly over online/text fan vote categories. And most importantly why isn’t carrie on that list?

Brad + dierks + hunter?!? I don’t know what to do with myself. Obsessed. Cannot wait for wheelhouse.

George strait. Such a class act. Love him. My first concert. You can tell every artist looks up to him as a mentor and loves his music.

Not a big fan of Eric church but I love that song and that performance.

Beth behrs’ dress was gorge! Love lady a downtown.

Eric church was the one album I didn’t like in that category. Tailgates and tanlines, blown away, and red were such HUGE albums. Ugh.

Blake acoustic? Omg I die. Love.

I think I say this every award show but I think the band perry is highly overrated. If I die young was a great song but everything else sounds the same and her voice is not as strong as it should be or as strong as its presented as.

Kind of funny Jana and Brantley were nominated against each other. True love? They’re supporting each other.

Joe diffie + 1994? Yup that sounds about right.

Wow kaley cuoco’s dress is amazing! Not loving the hair though.

Miranda Lambert’s performance dress..so much better! She looks and sounds better than ever. Love this song especially love the pistol Annie’s singing along in the audience

I love thinking about how cool it must be for a new artist like Ed Sheeran to be nominated for a Grammy and then get to perform your song with Sir Elton John during the award show. Seriously epic.

I just want fun. to win everything they’re nominated for, Carrie Underwood to kill her performance, and for the severe weather forecasts to not interrupt.

I’ve already decided fun. Will have the best performance of the night. Love them.

Dierks Bentley + Miranda Lambert = country perfection

It would’ve been really depressing if fun. didn’t win for song of the year. Such an epic song.

It’s very fitting that a real band performance followed a real band winning a deserved award

I haven’t liked the new Justin timberlake song until just now with this performance. I like how jay-z just came out of the audience to perform and then returned to his seat. Like no big deal.

You know there’s something right with the world when the most overproduced musical performance of the first half of the Grammys is Taylor swift. And I very much so hated hers. Rihanna is killing it in a very unlike her performance. Understated. Real music. Live vocals.

The black keys. Epic.

I’m not a huge ZBB fan, kind of indifferent but I really feel like four the record was an amazing country album this year

Kelly clarkson and carrie underwood: 2 brilliant voices we wouldn’t have if it weren’t for American idol. They are seriously 2 of the best vocalists in the music industry

Someone from every genre is literally jamming to this bruno mars song in the audience. So awesome.

With about an hour remaining in the broadcast I think it’s safe to say Taylor swift had the worst (and weirdest) performance of the night. My favorite performance of hers was when she did ours on the couch in normal clothes with her band sitting around her. Simplicity and real instruments always win.

New artist is such a tough category this year! Ahhhh

So glad fun won! I wish hunter Hayes could’ve won too but he is for sure going to be nominated consistently for a long time

I just stressed myself out thinking of all the great records I haven’t had a chance to review this year AND how it’s going to be near impossible to come up with a “best of” list. (Future reference: job hunting is far more exhausting than college and high school combined). Hopefully ill get organized after the first of the year!
